Preventative Health Checks

Recommended preventative health examination for a man aged 50-64 years

You will be asked about a personal or family history of heart disease or stroke,
cancer, thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, and other important medical conditions.

Periodic Health Checks for Men aged 50-64yrs

Blood Pressure and Weight At least every 1-2 years
Cholesterol At least once every 5 years

Immunizations

Tetanus-diphtheria :

Influenza

 

Every 10 years

Annually

Colon and rectal cancer Discuss with your doctor the limitations and benefits of annual stool blood test and flexible Screening sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
Prostate cancer Discuss with your doctor the limitations and benefits of screening PSA and digital rectal exam.
Testicular examination Age 50 and older : As part of routine exam
Diabetes Screening Every 3 years or as per individual risk
Eye Exam Over age 40: Every 2-4 years
